Design CRV fertility center

The initial focus is on the design and obtaining the permits.

DLV is supervising CRV in the developments of a Dairy Fertility Center in the Netherlands. The project is focusing initially on the design and obtaining the necessary permits.

One of the most extensive breeding programs in the world
CRV is an international herd improvement organisation that develops genetic material such as semen from breeding bulls. For this purpose, CRV operates one of the most extensive breeding programs in the world. The best female animals in CRV’s breeding program will be brought together at the fertility centre. These animals will be used as bull dams to produce the new generation of CRV bulls.

Top quality barn for top quality cattle
The centre will consist of two barns housing a total of around 300 cattle and a double flushing facility where the embryos can be flushed and egg cells collected. This flushing area is connected in turn to a central building that holds the laboratory and a variety of other rooms, such as offices, hygiene areas, a canteen and reception area etc. A quarantine barn will also be built with various sections, a storeroom for equipment, provision for forage storage and housing for staff. The new complex must be a representative reflection of the company’s image and will naturally comply with the strictest standards for aspects including animal welfare, hygiene and ease of working.
